In line with our ongoing commitment to continuously improving your Nudgify experience, we are excited to introduce a new feature that allows you to choose multiple identifier names for your visitors on your nudges. An identifier refers to the name you assign to your visitors on the visitor nudges.
Previously, you were limited to using a single identifier for your visitors, such as “A trendsetter”, “A tech fanatic” etc. This identifier is what would appear on your visitor nudge as: “A trendsetter just visited this page recently.” However, with this new feature, you now have the ability to use up to five different identifiers for your visitors across both the Single Visitors and All Visitors Nudges.

Before
What does this mean for you?
This feature brings a new level of dynamism to your visitor nudges, making them appear more natural and less automated. To illustrate this more clearly: before this update, when you could only use one identifier (e.g., “A trendsetter”), every visitor to your site would constantly see the same phrase repeated, such as “A trendsetter visited this page recently.” Based on extensive feedback and research, we found that this repetition could become a bit monotonous and less engaging for users.
To address this, we have introduced a dynamic approach to visitor identifiers on your nudges. You can now enter up to five different identifiers, which will be displayed in rotation to your site visitors.
It’s time to say goodbye to the monotony of seeing the same visitor identifier on your site, and welcome a more engaging, dynamic shuffle of multiple visitor names across your nudges.
Which Nudges Support This Feature?
This feature can be found and used on any of these 2 Nudges;
- The Single Visitor Nudge
- The All Visitors Nudge
Single Visitors Nudge
Once set-up properly, the identifiers would be shuffled on the single visitors nudge active on the sites this way;
All Visitors Nudge
Once set-up properly, the identifiers would be shuffled on the all visitors nudge on the sites this way;
How does it work?
When setting up or editing your Visitor Nudge, simply add the identifiers you’d like your visitors to be referred to as. You can add up to a maximum of 5 identifiers.
- Navigate to your Nudge Streams.
- To create a new nudge, click the “Add Nudge” button. However, if you want to edit an existing nudge, hover over the nudge in the stream it belongs to and click the “Edit” button.
- Select any of the ‘All Visitors’ or the ‘Single Visitor’ Nudge
- Go to the “Refer to visitor as” section and click inside the text area.
- Input the identifiers you wish to use for your visitors.
- To separate multiple identifiers, use a comma, the plus button, or hit the enter key.
- Once you’re satisfied with the identifiers you’ve entered, scroll to the bottom and click “Save.”
- That’s all there is to it!
You can now check your site to see the shuffling of the different identifiers you’ve added.
